Recent federal funding cuts have further impacted our already underserved veterans by reducing access to essential health and wellbeing resources needed to thrive after service. Women veterans, in particular, face even greater barriers and are often overlooked - unable to receive adequate medical and mental health care. With close family ties to the military, Eric has a deep personal commitment to this issue. Locally, he and Rachel are dedicating time and resources to Nation's Finest, an organization supporting America's Military Veterans and their families with a comprehensive approach to housing, health, employment, and wellbeing.
In partnership with Nation's Finest, the newly established Bonds of Sisterhood Fund will focus on building community and providing holistic support for women veterans in Northern California. Through a series of events and services tailored to their unique experiences, the programs will offer mental health support, gender-specific treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and access to parenting groups, financial guidance, and housing resources. Women veterans will be celebrated and supported year-round through appreciation month activities, events, and awareness initiatives. Additionally, Eric and Rachel are supporting Nation's Finest to establish a Mobile Support Unit, which will deliver essential services to veterans in remote and underserved areas.
